Install Feluda on Windows

From download to your first AI workflow in under five minutes.

Works on Windows 10 and 11. No cloud account required to get started.

System Requirements

Operating System Windows 10 version 1809 or later, Windows 11
Architecture 64-bit (x86-64) or ARM64
Disk Space Approximately 150 MB
Memory 4 GB minimum, 8 GB+ recommended
WebView2 Runtime is required but the installer takes care of this automatically. If you already have Microsoft Edge installed, WebView2 is most likely already present on your system.

Install Feluda on Windows

Option 1 — Installer (Recommended)

  1. Visit the Feluda download page and download the latest Windows installer.
  2. Double-click the downloaded file to start the setup wizard. If WebView2 is not already installed, the installer will add it automatically.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts — a desktop shortcut and a Start Menu entry will be created for you.
  4. Launch Feluda from the desktop shortcut or Start Menu.
Windows SmartScreen: Because Feluda is a new application, Windows may show a SmartScreen warning. Click "More info" and then "Run anyway" to continue. This is standard for newly released software and does not indicate a security risk.

Option 2 — Portable Executable

If you prefer not to install, you can download the standalone executable from the download page. Simply place it in any folder and run it directly — no installation needed. Note that you may need to install the WebView2 Runtime manually if it is not already on your system.

Getting Started After Installation

  1. The Dashboard appears — this is your central hub for everything in Feluda.
  2. Open AI Providers from the sidebar and add at least one provider. Enter an API key for a cloud service (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Mistral) or point to a local AI server like Ollama or LM Studio.
  3. Optionally, visit Secrets to store sensitive values (passwords, tokens) securely in the Windows Credential Manager.
  4. You are ready! Open the Workbench for chat-style interaction, or the Studio to build visual AI workflows.

Link Your Account (Optional)

If you have a paid plan — Explorer, Creator, or Visionary — you can connect your desktop app to your feluda.ai account:

  1. Go to the Synchronize page inside the app.
  2. Follow the Link Device flow to connect your installation to your account.
  3. Feluda activates your plan and downloads any Genes (add-on capabilities) you have purchased from the Gene Store.

Where Feluda Stores Data

DataLocation
Application filesC:\Program Files\Feluda.ai\FeludaFlow\
User data (flows, journals, Genes, settings)%APPDATA%\Feluda\
SecretsWindows Credential Manager

Your personal data is never stored inside the application folder, so updates and reinstalls will not affect your flows or settings.

Updating Feluda

When a new version is available, simply download the latest installer and run it — it upgrades your existing installation in place. Your flows, journals, Genes, and settings are never affected by updates.

For the full step-by-step process, see our dedicated guide to updating Feluda on Windows.

Uninstalling Feluda

Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps in Windows, find Feluda, and click Uninstall. This removes the application files. Your personal data in %APPDATA%\Feluda\ is preserved — delete that folder manually if you want a complete removal.

Troubleshooting

Windows SmartScreen blocks Feluda

SmartScreen may warn about applications from new publishers. Click "More info", then "Run anyway". This is expected behaviour for recently released software and does not mean the file is unsafe.

Blank window or WebView2 errors

Feluda uses the WebView2 engine to render its interface. If you see a blank window, the runtime may be missing or outdated. Download the latest WebView2 Evergreen Bootstrapper from Microsoft and run it. Restart Feluda afterwards.

"Access denied" when installing

The installer needs administrator rights to write to Program Files. Right-click the installer and choose "Run as administrator". Alternatively, use the portable executable which does not require admin privileges.

AI providers are not connecting

Double-check your API key on the AI Providers page. For local providers like Ollama or LM Studio, make sure the server is running and reachable at the configured URL (Ollama defaults to http://localhost:11434). Visit the Help Center for more details.
